Our restaurant is a unique place where you will immerse yourself in the authentic tastes of Thailand.

The journey to Leo...

Our head chef Num has dreamt for many years of owning her own restaurant. Having worked within many award winning kitchens across the world, her passion for authentic Thai food has stood out time and time again.

Hearing her story, and seeing her passion for incredible cooking, local restauranteur Salam wanted to help make her dream come true.

After searching for the perfect location, they found our home.

Formerly an Indian takeaway, 17 Clayport Street had fallen into disrepair during lockdown, and the building needed a lot of work. It was no easy undertaking.

After months of renovations, delays due to the (lack of) utilities, planning applications and sleepless nights, Leo finally opened in July 2024.

Where did the name Leo come from?

In Thailand, the lion symbolises guardianship and protection. We are the guardians of authentic recipes and Thai food heritage.

Welcome to Leo.
